Wide receiver target set to commit

Middle Tennessee is zeroing in on one of the top guys on the 2021 board. The guy at the top of the receiving board is Erick Smith Jr.

Smith is a playmaking wide receiver who has north of 30 scholarship offers.

Back on June 6, Smith whittled down his top list from over 30 teams to five teams. Those teams were MTSU, FIU, Memphis, South Alabama and South Florida.

Over two months later Smith announced a top three, and MT made the cut once again. On August 19, Smith announced his top three of MTSU, FIU and Florida State.

Not only has Smith announced his decision date, he has announced the time of 2:30.

Smith posted gaudy stats as a junior in high school. During his junior year campaign he had 56 catches for 745 yards and seven touchdowns.

Smith Jr. had an impressive sophomore season as well. During that season he had 34 snags for 406 yards and three touchdowns.
