It is time for this week's edition of the MTSU picks, as the Blue Raiders face Florida Atlantic!
As always, Publisher Matt Dossett and staff writer Rickey Fuquay Jr. pick the outcome!
Matt Dossett (8-3 on the season)
Well boys and girls, it all boils down to this. Middle Tennessee State has one more opportunity to get bowl eligibility status and possibly secure a bowl berth. The Blue Raiders will roll into the Sunshine State, Saturday, on Florida Atlantic's Senior Day.
Florida Atlantic and MTSU have quarterbacks on opposite ends of the spectrum. N'kosi Perry is a graduate student while Nick Vattiato is a true Freshman.
As it pertains to Vattiato, I have said this over and over, but it is worth mentioning again that Vattiato should be called upon to be a game manager and avoid any errors that could prove to be fatal.
I think this is the game where Stockstill and his boys get a victory despite most chalking this up as a loss. Call it voodoo, call it a crazy coincidence, but sneaking into bowl eligibility fits the status quo with the football program.
Look for Vattiato to turn around and feed the rock to his buddies in the backfield. Also, look for Vattiato to make just enough throws with his arm to garner the W.

Middle Tennessee couldn't overcome a 14-0 run by Old Dominion in the fourth quarter falling short to the Monarchs 24 to 17 on Senior Day.The Blue Raiders have one more chance to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2018; however it will be a challenge as they travel to Boca Raton to play Florida Atlantic.
MTSU is 12-5 all-time against the Owls. The key will be can the offense take care of the football better than they did in two of the last three games.Freshman Quarterback Nicholas Vattiato and Graduate Student N'Kosi Perry will out duel each other under the bright lights; however Perry and the Owls will come up clutch in the final seconds and end the Blue Raiders' season.
FAU: 31
