Raiders land 3-star lineman

For the second time this season, the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have landed their first commitment of the 2015 recruiting class. After losing grasp of their original commitment, DB Zavier Bingham, the Blue Raiders were certainly looking to make a splash with their newest addition.
Well, consider that splash made, as MT landed the pledge of 3-star OL Josh Fannin Monday afternoon. Fannin, the No. 10 ranked Center in the nation, commits to MT over a list of favorites that included Marshall and Southern Miss.
In all, Fannin held double digit offers, and was considering fellow CUSA schools Old Dominion and UAB - among the others - before ultimately deciding on the Blue Raiders. It is also worth noting that his father played for Marshall in the 1980's.
A Georgia native, Fannin plays ball on the interior line for Mill Creek HS. He is projected to play center at the collegiate level, but could also play left, or right, guard if need be, which is where the bulk of his snaps came from last season.
As a junior, Fannin helped anchor an offensive line that produced an effective ground attack for Mill Creek, one that averaged 274.2 rushing yards per game and scored a total of 27 touchdowns on the ground as well. Along with leading him to becoming a nationally ranked center, Fannin's efforts also landed him at No. 70 on the overall list of Georgia players in 2015.
GoMiddle.com will be speaking with Fannin in the very near future. For more info on Fannin and his commitment to the Blue Raiders, keep it locked on to GoMiddle.com!
