Raiders ink four in mid-term period

Middle Tennessee Head Football Coach Rick Stockstill announced Monday the signing of four offensive players to scholarship agreements.

Quarterback Logan Kilgore from Bakersfield College, wide receiver Jamar Brown from Feather River Community College, tight end Jared Bamber out of Palomar Community College, and center Jeremiah Black from West Hill Community College.

"I am excited about these young men joining our program and I am anxious for them to get started in school and getting ready for spring practice," added Stockstill.

Kilgore (6-3, 195), who will have four years to play three, threw for 2,512 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2009 to lead Bakersfield to a 10-2 record and earn National Northern Conference Offensive MVP honors. Kilgore became just the third quarterback in Bakersfield history to surpass 2,000 yards in a single-season.

Brown (6-2, 215), from Charleston, SC, led Feather River with 28 receptions for 592 yards and six touchdowns on his way to all-conference accolades. Brown, who did not play much as a freshman, averaged 21.1 yards per reception this season for FRCC.

Bamber (6-4, 250), out of Murietta, CA, earned California All-America honors in 2009 after helping lead Palomar to a No. 8 final ranking. The offensive captain had five receptions for 52 yards but was a vital blocker for the Comets' strong rushing attack.

Black (6-1, 270) hails from Denver, CO but was a two-year starter for West Hills in Coalinga, CA. Black earned all-conference honors in 2009 while also capturing the team's academic award. The two-year team captain received honorable mention all-league honors as a freshman.

All four players will report to campus in January and go through the team's offseason conditioning program and spring practice.
