Prospect Spotlight: CJ Clinkscales

The MTSU football staff has essentially closed the book on the 2021 recruiting class, and now the focus has shifted to the 2022 class.

The staff is leaving no bullets in the chamber when it comes to recruiting tactics. The slogan for this upcoming class is "Riding on 22's"

Monday afternoon the Blue Raiders entered the race for Peach State product and all-around athlete CJ Clinkscales.

Clinkscales is a Swiss Army knife for Buford High School. He is a two-way guy that can give you carries as a tailback, but he is also a guy that can be a ball hawk in the secondary.

He is also a dynamite special teams guy, who is a threat to go the distance when he gets his mitts on the ball.

Middle is not the only suitor for Clinkscales that has offered him in the month of February. In the month of February alone, he has offers from: MT, Appalachian State, and UAB.

His January offers are from the likes of: Air Force, Eastern Kentucky, Liberty, and Akron.

Back in January of 2020, he was the recipient of an offer from power five school Colorado. The Buffs were not the first power conference program to extend an offer. West Virginia offered in December of 2019.

Despite the fact many other teams are vying for his services, MT has thrown their hat in the ring and will be in hot pursuit of Clinkscales.

Clinkscales is has the high school pedigree. He is a two-time state champion at Buford High. He also runs track.
