MTSU Football Adds Transfer QB Mike Diliello

MTSU received some big news on the transfer front this morning as Florida Tech QB Mike Diliello announced he has committed to the Blue Raiders

Coach Stockstill announced in the first edition of "Moving Forward With Football" webinar that the football program still had one open scholarship and his staff was scouring the transfer portal for a possible fit. Taking a QB makes sense given that Randall Johnson announced last month that he would be leaving the Blue Raiders program.

Due to the financial strain put on athletic programs around the country by COVID-19, Florida Tech announced earlier this year that it would be closing down its' football program.

MTSU WR coach Austin Silvoy was on the inaugural football staff at Florida Tech. For that reason, we at GoMiddle believed MTSU would be keenly aware of the possible talent available.

Diliello is a 6'1", 204 pound redshirt-sophomore. He attended Cooper City High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He chose Florida Tech over offers from Columbia, Jacksonville and Valparaiso.

Diliello went 141-233 with 1773 yards, 12 TDs and 6 interceptions as a redshirt-freshman last season. He also added 672 yards and 11 TDs on the ground in 139 attempts.

He should be granted immediate eligibility given the circumstances surrounding the closure of the Florida Tech program.
