The Peach Tree state is proving to be very fruitful to Middle Tennessee head coach Kermit Davis and his staff.

Just days after landing 3-star F KJ Buffen, the Blue Raiders got another highly touted prospect from the state of Georgia in shooting guard Tye Fagan of Upson Lee High.

Fagan took to Twitter Tuesday morning to make his official announcement.

Despite being labeled as better-kept secret in the state of Georgia, Fagan has developed a reputation as one of the nations best finishers at the rim.

Fagan possesses a combination of aggression and finesse - traits that attracted numerous suitors to his door during the recruiting process.

In the end, Fagan chose MT over a final five that included Georgia, Arkansas State, College of Charleston and USF. He also held offers from Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Troy, Mercer, East Carolina and Wofford.

While his scoring prowess is undeniable, Fagan's ability to rebound and defend - attributes that are must haves to Kermit Davis and his staff - are what made him a top priority for Middle Tennessee.

"Fagan’s strength is finding crafty ways to score in the paint."
— Rivals.com analyst Dan McDonald

At this year's HoopSeen Elite Preview Camp, Fagan was one of the stars of the show, displaying a contagious energy that resonated well. Rivals.com recruiting analyst Dan McDonald was there and had good things to say about Fagan.

"Fagan’s strength is finding crafty ways to score in the paint," McDonald wrote. "For a guard, he’s a terrific post-up player. At only 6-foot-3, he finds a way to come up with an impressive number of rebounds because of his length and ability to rise quickly. His shot is coming along as he hit a couple deep off the dribble, but he’s still streaky in that area."

"He’s a very good player and very productive, but he’s the type of player you have to watch closely and frequently to fully appreciate what he does," McDonald added. "It will be interesting to see which coaches put in the time with him. His talent level should have high-majors paying close attention to his progress."

Evidently the coaches who put in the most work on the recruiting trail were Kermit Davis and crew. The Blue Raiders, who extended their offer to Fagan in January, tabbed assistant coach Ronnie Hamilton with lead recruiting duties on Fagan. Hamilton has been on a roll lately for MT. He was also the lead recruiter of KJ Buffen.

Coming off of a stellar junior campaign in which he averaged 21.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game en route to leading Upson Lee to a 32-0 mark and a 4A state championship, Fagan's stock will only rise from here.

It remains to be seen whether additional suitors will come knocking on his door. The belief is that Fagan would garner plenty of high-major interest before it was all said and done. One thing is for sure, though - MT has already fended off one P5 school, and they certainly won't be afraid to drop the gloves again should they need to.
