Dontrell Shuler Eligible For 2020-2021 Season

Middle Tennessee basketball received big news on Tuesday as the NCAA has accepted Charleston Southern guard Dontrell Shuler's waiver request to transfer without being required to sit out a season.

Shuler was a big addition in April. As GoMiddle wrote at the time:

"Shuler lead Charleston Southern in points per game with 17.9 in the 2019-2020 campaign. His usage rate was 32.6% last year for Charleston Southern - for reference, that's 22nd highest in the country. 51.8% true shooting percentage at that usage rate is really impressive, especially for a smaller combo guard. He shot 65% at the rim, an astronomical figure given his stature. That statistic is made even more impressive when you consider he did not attempt a dunk all year."

GoMiddle continued to hear positive signs Shuler would have his waiver accepted; the MT coaching staff always believed they had a good chance.

Shuler figures to be an early contributor for the Blue Raiders.
