Davis adds PG Dixon

Kermit Davis and the Blue Raider coaching staff added another guard to the mix Friday night when they received the pledge from Southwest Christian Academy(AR) point guard Tyrik Dixon.

The fourth addition to the '16 class (and third guard), Dixon chose the Blue Raiders over offers from Tulsa and Louisiana Monroe. He also held interest early on in the recruiting process from Wichita State.

Caleb Luketic of Sidelines reported earlier in the day that Blue Raider assistant coach Win Case was having a meeting with the talented guard.

Evidently, that meeting went very well as Dixon took to Twitter just a few hours later to make his announcement public.

A lefty, Dixon is known for having a quick shot release with exceptional handles and good court vision. Dixon has an uncanny ability to see the floor and be the creator, something that Kermit Davis and his staff undoubtedly thought would be a good fit in their system.

While Dixon can create in space and get his teammates involved, he's certainly not hesitant to pull up and let the ball fly. As far as his shot goes, Dixon has range and a lethal floater that he regularly uses in the paint.

Dixon played his AAU ball for the Wings Elite team out of Arkansas. He joins fellow MT commitments Calvin Davis, Antwain Johnson and Davion Thomas in the 2016 recruiting class. Dixon is the first commitment that MT has secured since their NCAA Tournament run.
