Catching up with 2022 guard Jalen Forrest

If you are familiar with hoops recruiting, you know that college programs definitely have their sights set on the horizon.

Middle Tennessee State has the eye on the prize that is 2022 point guard Jalen Forrest. Forrest was teammates with MTSU signee Christian Fussell and is a guy MT has made inroads with when it comes to his recruitment.

GoMiddle's Matt Dossett spoke with Forrest on April 1.

Here is the link to that article!

Dossett caught up with Forrest once again to go behind the curtains and catch up with him regarding his game and his recruitment.

Below is some of his tape to munch on and look at!

Here is Matt Dossett's conversation with Forrest:

What has your recruitment been like as of late? Is it picking up pace or typical?

My recruitment has been good. I got a couple offers (since we last spoke), and just staying calm and ready to play more. It’s typical right now.

Where is MT right now when it comes to your list of schools? Are they in the running for your recruitment?

Yes, MT is in the running. I have a great relationship with Coach Morgan and I absolutely like the school.

What are your top schools at the moment?

MT, Stetson, and Appalachian State. I have great relationships with those coaches and that’s what’s important right now.

What schools are recruiting you the hardest?

MT and Stetson are the hardest recruiting me right now.

When did MT offer? Where were you when you got the offer and what was your reaction?

MT offered me late March, and I was at home, and my reaction was just me being proud of myself and hard work paying off.

How have you been working on your game as of late?

I’ve just been working on weakness and some more things to add.

Are there aspects of your game you want to hone in on and improve?

Finishing at the rim better than I already do.

Who for MT is recruiting you? Describe your relationship with the coach

Coach Morgan. Me and Coach Morgan’s relationship is actually really good, and I just appreciate him recruiting me and helping me with my game. Our relationship is one of the best ones in my whole recruitment.

Do you have plans for visits in the future?

Yes.

Do you have a timetable for a commit?

No, not as of now.

Describe your overall game

My overall game is just dynamic. I can do everything on all levels, score the ball, pass well, finish at the rim, defend, just all around.

Is there a pro you model your game after?

Honestly I just want to play like my big bro Justin Forrest.
