2018 prospect and power forward recruit Carlos Curry has had a whirlwind couple of months.

The Albany, Georgia native picked up some big offers from schools such as Illinois State, Florida State, Troy, Western Kentucky, Oklahoma, and of course, Middle Tennessee, after an impressive summer circuit showing. To top it off, Curry recently took visits to Florida State, Oklahoma and Western Kentucky.

MT was always in the thick of things and stayed a constant factor in Curry's recruitment, and their efforts paid off Wednesday as Curry made his pledge to the Blue Raiders official.

This is a huge coup and a big time get for MT. The Blue Raiders are likely done filling in their 2018 class with this addition, so it speaks volumes as to what Kermit Davis and company think of Curry to take up their last spot with him. Curry will join fellow 3-star players, and Georgia natives, KJ Buffen and Tye Fagan in the '18 class.

On the recruiting trail, Curry held offers from P5 schools like Florida State, Clemson and Oklahoma. There were also a handful of mid-major programs shooting for the stars hoping to land Curry. Illinois State, Western Kentucky, Troy, Milwaukee, and Southeastern Louisiana all were vying for Curry's services as well.

When you breakdown his film - it's easy to see why Curry became such a commodity.

FILM BREAKDOWN:

Carlos Curry is listed at 6'11 and 220 pounds. He also has a 7'2" wingspan. This is elite size and length for a basketball prospect.

When I started playback on his film, Curry shows that he is a shot blocking extraordinaire right off the bat. He swats the ball with great ferocity time and time again. One calling card you try to look for with post players is how they fare down low and in the paint. Curry has a nose for the ball and scraps down low for rebounds and offensive put backs.

Curry is not simply a guy that just lives around the basket. Make no mistake, he can step out and consistently drill jump shots. He has great elevation on his jumper which makes him virtually impossible to block. Keep watching the film. He is automatic from mid-range. He also seems to be a good free throw shooter, which is impressive for a big fella.

While his mid range game is becoming deadly, Curry is also developing a stroke from beyond the arc. Start at the 26 second mark above and you'll see Curry bury a three pointer with ease.

On the boards, Curry dominates the glass offensively and defensively, showing effort hauling in rebounds left and right.

Lots of times big time plays can demoralize opponents. Not only does Curry smack shots out of bounds and into the bleachers, he slams down thunderous dunks with emphasis.

THE SKINNY:

Carlos Curry should be dynamite for Middle Tennessee and head coach Kermit Davis.

Coaches and fans will be drooling to see Curry in blue. He can carve you up from inside and out. He checks all the boxes. He scores inside and out, rebounds the basketball and makes statement plays that change the complexion of the game.

Initially when I saw his weight listed I thought he would need to pack on a ton of pounds. After seeing the tape, though, I don't think that is the case. Curry's game fits his mold.

Get ready, Blue Raider fans.
