MTSU Offers Arkansas Prospects

National Signing Day for the class of 2021 is in the books and suddenly in the rearview mirror. The football staff will now pivot, turning their attention to the class of 2022. Even when signing day for high school seniors and junior college prospects loomed large, the staff was in the process of doling out some offers for the class of 2022.

The staff recently distributed offers to a group of Arkansas prospects.

Mark Welch was one individual out of a group of prospects from Arkansas that was offered by Middle.

Welch is a player that gives you the flexibility to play him on the defensive line or on the offensive line. More specifically, he can be lined up and be effective at defensive tackle or offensive tackle. Based off his junior film, offensive tackle seems to be where he has the most experience.

Welch was offered on February 1.

The big fella currently holds offers from Middle Tennessee State, Central Arkansas, Lane College, South Dakota State, and Kansas.

Brock Burns is another big guy who was the recipient of an offer from MT on February 1.

Burns committed to the Kansas Jayhawks back in August of 2020.

In late January, Burns opted to back off his pledge to Kansas and open up his recruitment.

When it comes to quarterback recruiting, typically the rule of thumb is to sign at least one signal caller in each recruiting class. Austin Myers is one of the guys in 2022 that the MT staff is targeting.

Myers took to social media on February 1 to announce his offer.

Myers received an offer from the nearby Kansas Jayhawks in June.

One day before Burns' initial commitment to KU, Myers pledged to the Jayhawks.

On January 29 Myers backed off his pledge to KU.

Brent Dearmon, the current offensive coordinator at MTSU, was the primary recruiter for Myers, while Dearmon was on the Kansas staff.

The list of Arkansas guys continues as Tederian Blair also received an offer on, you guessed it, February 1.

Dearmon has his fingerprints all over Blair's recruitment.

The Jayhawks offered him in May of 2020.

It should be apparent now that MT is targeting guys in the trenches for the 2022 class.

Timothy Dawn is a three-star prospect that MT is currently chasing.

Dawn also holds offers from: MT, Kansas, Tulane, Central Arkansas, New Mexico, Arizona State, and Louisiana Tech. Kansas was his first offer.

Chase Jessup is a two-time all conference lineman and an all-state performer at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy, Arkansas.

Jessup recently spoke to Mike Polly and Brent Dearmon. During that conversation he was offered by the Blue Raiders.

Jessup has offers from: MT, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, Central Arkansas, and Kansas.

Travelle Anderson is a class of 2022 tailback from Gosnell, Arkansas, who was offered on February 1. He is currently over six feet tall and around 200 pounds.

Anders holds offers from MT, Liberty, Central Arkansas, Arkansas State, Colorado State, and Kansas.

Kansas was his first offer.
