Meet the New Boys in Blue - Terry Pettis

Terry Pettis comes to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders by way of Langston Hughes High School located in Fairburn, GA. The 6'5" 215 pound tight end his a force to be reckoned with due to his remarkable athleticism. He was getting looks from the likes of Jacksonville State, Savannah State, Virginia University and Middle Tennessee. But, luckily for the Blue Raider Nation, he decided to take his talents up the Boro. Without further adieu, we present Terry Pettis in "Meet the New Boys in Blue."



Q: What do you plan on majoring in at MT?

A: "Right now I'm undecided. I'm thinking about going into Criminal Justice."


Q: If you weren't playing football what sport would you play?

A: "I play basketball too. At 6'5" you have to play basketball."


Q: What position do you play?

A: "Power Forward."


Q: What is the most important position on the field?

A: "It has to be the Quarterback. Everything goes through him. He touches the ball every play."



Q: What is the hardest hit you have ever taken?

A: "My 9th grade year in high school I caught a screen pass during practice and I was running down the field. I got blindsided and I blacked out for a minute."


Q: What kind of coaching style do you enjoy more - a player's coach or a disciplinary coach?

A: "A little bit of both, because I like the coaches that become personal with you, but I'm still not your friend."


Q: Out of all the NFL players who would you say you mimic your game after?

A: "It's a lot of different ones. I like AJ Green, I like the tight end Veron Davis, Jimmy Graham and Hernandez from the Patriots. There are a couple of players that I like to watch and look at their highlights before I go play games."


Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: "Slumdog Millionaire."


Q: Who is your favorite musician/band?

A: "Lil Wayne."


Q: What type of music do you listen to before a game?

A: "Hip-Hop."


Q: XBOX 360 or PS3?

A: "XBOX 360"


Q: Madden or NCAA?

A: "Madden"


Q: If you could go out to dinner with any athlete in the world who would it be? What would you ask him?

A: "It would have to be AJ Green, because I have just always watched him play and have always wanted to be him. How can I get where you are at right now?"
