Cape Coral (Fla.) Baker athlete Joseph Byrd held an offer from Purdue before he realized there was a player on the Boilermakers' roster he knew going back to grade school. That connection has the 5-10, 170-pound Byrd feeling more comfortable with the Boilermakers heading into the stretch run of his recruitment.
